Malocchio Disc

Malocchio Disc

This is the Disc Brake/ Carbon Fork version of our Neoclassical Road frame The Malocchio. Here's what Matt had to say about the original, all steelĀ rim brake Malocchio:

"The Malocchio was dreamed up and designed with our friend Travers Martin. It is a classical delight, like listening to the slow smooth sounds of the 3 Tenors on a breezy moon lit summer night. Don't let that smoothness fool you, the Malocchio can be an absolute rocket ship if you want it to be. It's top of the line Columbus Spirit tube set offers the ride characteristics and reliability you should expect out of a modern steel road frame."

Build Notes:

VERY IMPORTANT:Ā Our carbon fork that Matt designed for this bike has an integrated crown race for the headset. If you or "your mechanic" try to hammer on a crown race and damage/ destroy the fork, that is on you.Ā Ā

Unlike it's rim brake counterpart, the Malocchio Disc is designed around a 700c wheel throughout the size range.

Recommended tire size is 38c (ish) or 35c-ish with fenders.Ā

Set it up with a single, double, or even a triple ring crank.Ā

Flat Mount Brakes Front and Rear with a 160mm Max Rotor Size Front and Rear

Most Calipers should bolt up by using around a 37 to 42mm Bolt up front and around a 32 to 37mm Bolt in the rear. It will vary caliper to caliper. This is not a guarantee, just a size range to help you figure it out. You'll have to apply some common sense and maybe some trial and error here. You want more than two threads holding your caliper on, but some caliper bolt holes are shallow, so a long bolt wont work.Ā

ED Coated to help protect it from the elements and inhibit internal corrosion. This doesn't mean you're free to ride it into the ocean though.

Thru Axles and Fork Compression Plug are included.

Max Stack Under Stem= 40mm and you will need at least 5mm over top of the stem for the compression plug
